NogginLabs, Inc. Courses Named Finalists by The American Business Awards
14 May 2008
May 14, 2008 – NogginLabs, Inc., a full-service custom e-learning software development firm, announced today that three of their e-learning courses are finalists in The 2008 American Business Awards.
Hailed as “the business world’s own Oscars” (New York Post, April 27, 2005), The American Business Awards are the only national, all-encompassing awards program honoring great performances in business.
Stevie Award winners will be announced during the annual gala on Thursday, June 12 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City. More than 600 executives from across the U.S.A. are expected to attend. The ceremonies will be broadcast on radio nationwide by the Business TalkRadio Network and hosted by Liz Claman of FOX Business Network.
More than 2,600 entries from companies of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted for consideration in more than 40 categories, including Best Overall Company, Best Executive, Best New Product or Service, Best Corporate Social Responsibility Program, and new categories including Best Management Team and Best Corporate Environmental Responsibility Program. NogginLabs, Inc. will be competing in the Public Information, Professional Education, and Training categories for the e-learning industry.
The course nominated in the Public Information category is Peer Empowerment Education Referral Station (PEERS). Developed for the AIDS Foundation of Chicago (AFC), in collaboration with Test Positive Aware Network, the Peer Empowerment Education Referral Station is a public resource for individuals newly diagnosed with HIV/AIDS to access quality information and to find reassurance during difficult times. This interactive resource comprises an interactive HIV/AIDS wellness guide and a directory of local resources. It is accessible from the AFC community website and includes engaging activities while providing detailed information for all audiences. NogginLabs fully developed the first of five modules, largely pro-bono, and provided the tools and support for AFC to complete the remaining portions themselves.
Nominated in the Professional Education category is Turning the Page, Building Your Library Community. Developed for the Public Library Association, Turning the Page is an online, interactive training curriculum for librarians and library supporters. Through a variety of learning activities, the curriculum prepares the learner for library advocacy work while teaching the skills essential to building sources of sustainable funding. Turning the Page incorporates a modifiable action plan across all constituent modules. At the conclusion of the training, the learner will have developed a full, printable action plan to use as a resource in his/her ongoing advocacy efforts.
The final course nominated is in the Training category. Developed for Behavioral Tech Research, Inc., the Behavioral Chain Analysis course was designed to promote the acquisition of Chain Analysis counseling skills among practicing therapists. In the five-hour course, learners encounter numerous simulated interactions with clients, colleagues, and experts. By mimicking the actual environment, learners become better prepared for real-life situations. Additionally, the course provides detailed remediation when learners make mistakes to ensure that learners walk away with the necessary skills to practice Behavioral Chain Analysis procedures and principles with clients.
“We are so proud and excited to have three courses be nominated as finalists for American Business Awards,” NogginLabs co-owner and CFO Traci Knudson said. “Congratulations are definitely in order for the NogginLabs teams and the client teams who helped create each course.”
“ABA entries grew more than 30% this year, so being named a Finalist is more of an accomplishment than ever before,” said Michael Gallagher, founder and president of The Stevie Awards. “It means that independent business executives have agreed that the nominee is worthy of national recognition. We congratulate all of the Finalists on their achievement and wish them well in the competition.”
“It’s great to be recognized as an e-learning company that creates award-caliber courses,” Knudson said. “It is even more meaningful for these three courses because they all serve the public with much-needed education that will inform decisions and change learner behavior.”
