My son is a teenager now, but I’ll never forget the car rides with him when he was younger. Listening to the radio was never an option because as he saw the world passing through the car windows, he had a question for every single thing his 6-year-old eyes noticed.
“Why are the clouds like that?”
“Why do the trees lose their leaves?”
And because we used to live in a refinery town, my personal favorite: “What is that smell?!”
To me, these questions seemed a little…stupid. Not stupid in that he was asking them, but in that these were things I’d known the answers to for decades. Things I didn’t even bother to stop and consider anymore.
But to my son these were unknowns. They were ways to interpret and understand the world around him. A world he’d only been in for a handful of years. They were possibilities.
STUPID QUESTIONS SPARK INNOVATION
The brilliance of being a novice, whether to the world-at-large or to an industry, is the chance for innovation through exploring the possibilities with stupid questions.
When you partner with a vendor to create engaging and behavior-changing e-learning solutions, you are the parent driving the car down the highway with a world of knowledge and experience inside your head.
You are the expert.
You know what a typical day in your business is like. You know why some customers would choose one product or service over another. You know what an ideal customer service interaction looks like.
And chances are, you know them so well you really haven’t thought about them in depth for quite some time.
Well, think of us as the curious kids in the backseat bringing those ideas to the forefront of your mind again, so that we can work together to uncover needs you might not have even realized you had, and create impactful, custom learning solutions to meet those needs.
I remember on one of our question-filled rides, my son asked me why we always took the same route home. Was there a reason? Was there another way?
I paused for a moment, “Because it’s the way I’ve always taken, Max.”
“What if we took a different way sometime?” he followed up.
What if we did? I thought to myself. What might we discover?
Answer: a mom-and-pop hamburger joint with the best fries and cherry milkshakes in the area. And a new, weekly routine where mom and son created memories and laughter over said shakes and fries. If he’d never asked the question, we might never have uncovered that possibility, or created that outcome.
That’s not a far stretch from giving your learners the tools and skills they need to be successful through e-learning solutions.
When we ask you the stupid questions—and trust us, we will—it’s because our goal is to make discoveries to meet the needs of your business and your learners. We’re going to be asking the same kinds of questions they’re probably asking.
And what better way to connect with your learners and make meaningful changes than to provide an online learning solution that has addressed those questions?
Of course, when it comes to designing jaw-dropping, custom e-learning, our team is in the driver’s seat.
Don’t worry. We’ll keep the radio off--eagerly awaiting your questions.
