We all know that our best professional relationships are the ones we have with people who are, well, nice. Watch below as Senior Content Producer Jonathan Baude shares a little science as he talks about the best possible collaborations.
We believe that nice guys finish first. What does playing nice have to do with our business? We’ve got some science to explain that. When people are nice and courteous to each other, the brain releases little rewards to make them relax: dopamine and oxytocin, whose effects actually make people more open to ideas, better collaborators, and stronger team members. On the flip side, when people are agitated or negative, the quality of collaboration can go down. We’ve got science for that too. When stress levels are high, the brain can do something called an amygdala hijack. Basically people go into fight, flight, or freeze mode, which is not super conducive to the way Noggins collaborate and produce. At NogginLabs we play nice. Come play with us.
So whatever you're working on, please be nice.
