Meet Merideth

Meredith is a 32 year old white female who has been HIV-positive for several years. She has recently entered in a new relationship with an HIV-negative man and has had many relationships with men in the past. Her new relationship with her HIV-negative male partner has opened up concerns about staying healthy with HIV, and about HIV transmission to her partner.

Also, even though she is in a committed relationship, both Meredith and her partner see other people. They consider themselves in a liberated relationship. Her concern is that if she and her boyfriend have various partners, they may be exposed to sexually transmitted infections, HIV re-infection, and co-infection with Hepatitis C. She is confused about disclosure issues in her open relationship and with the other partners, some of whom have not been tested for HIV and are IV drug users.

While she and her partner are happy, she worries that something bad may happen and she doesn’t want to mess things up.
