It takes a big e-learning vendor to admit that there are certain skills and tasks that are best accomplished offline. From classroom materials to live learning events, the blended learning solutions we develop here at NogginLabs are typically a small part of a much larger business-changing learning initiative. For example, when the American Red Cross wanted to completely reinvent the CPR, First Aid, AED, and Aquatics training and certification experience, we answered the challenge with a suite of blended curriculums that combine the best of both simulation learning and real-world learning.
Our first major release with the American Red Cross includes 30 hours of blended learning to train and certify swim instructors. Candidates spend ten weeks going through seven hours of simulation learning and 23 hours of classroom and pool time. Upcoming CPR and First Aid courses pair high-end simulation learning with in-person skills sessions where learners demonstrate what they've learned. Check back in October to see which awards these courses take home this year!
As BMO Harris Bank expanded nationwide, they could no longer rely on their centralized classroom-based approach to provide consistent training to every banker and teller. NogginLabs helped transition BMO Harris bank to 30 hours of scalable, consistent online system simulation training coupled with shoulder-to-shoulder training and virtual Webex coaching sessions.
McDonald's has always used a blended instructional design approach for their crew training: learn online first and then demonstrate your knowledge with the actual equipment second. We have partnered with McDonald's since 2006 to ensure that this blended approach is as effective and engaging as possible, and together we have earned multiple Brandon Hall awards.
